In Memoriam: Trudy Richards

Trudy Richard

Trudy Lynn Richards passed away peacefully in her sleep on the morning of June 25, 2024, in her hometown of Bishop, CA, where she was surrounded by the love and comfort of her family and friends.

Trudy was born November 29, 1956, to Marian and Eldred Richards. Before settling down in her home of Bishop, CA, Trudy was a long time resident of Carson City, NV, where she worked in the Department of Motor Vehicles for over 20 years, a veteran employee. Trudy was a closet musician, playing the piano, saxophone, and even drums when the opportunity presented itself, truly a woman of many talents. She was often found either wandering her garden or at her other favorite hangout, the casino, lighting the place up with her glowing smile and radiating positivity. She was a skilled hand gamer, and even a world traveler, traveling to Australia with her family in 2003.

Trudy was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, companion, and friend. She is preceded in death by her parents Marian McDonald, Daniel McDonald, and Eldred Richards. She is survived by her companion and partner of 24 years, Ed Guerena, sister Shelly McDonald, brother Joe McDonald, nephews Daniel McDonald, Joseph McDonald, niece Mackenzie Wyatt, or simply ‘the kids’. Trudy is also survived by great-nieces Gracie McDonald, Addie McDonald, and great-nephew Jaidyn McKellips.

Our family would like to thank everyone for their kind thoughts, prayers, and support for Trudy and her family. As well as the care providers at both Northern Inyo Hospital and Bishop Care Center for ensuring Trudy’s comfort.

Services will be held at the Barlow Lane Gym, Saturday July 6 at 11:00am, with a viewing at 10:00. Burial and dinner to follow
