As part of our ongoing series, we are interviewing people of interest in the area who are having a positive impact on our community.

This time, we reached out to Amber Morgenstein of Magick Nature!

Hi Amber, can you tell me a little bit about Magick Nature and what inspired its creation?

I can’t really take credit for the store’s creation. Ron & Mikayla Frigon, creators of Nuts n Twigs, (Magick Nature’s predecessor) get credit for that. They created a wonderful shop at the current location back in 2017 with feel good vibes, affectionately known as the local “hippie store”. In late 2020 / early 2021, I was at somewhat of a crossroads in my life – I knew that I know longer wanted to continue with my almost 20-year Insurance career, but wasn’t sure what I wanted to do next. I wanted to do something that filled my cup every day. One night while contemplating this under a full moon, I asked the Universe for a sign – where should I go? What should I do? The next day while scrolling Facebook, I saw a post by Nuts n Twigs that they were looking to pass the torch to someone else and I just felt it in my gut – THIS is what I am supposed to do. A few months later, the store was mine and the transformation from Nuts n Twigs to Magick Nature began. While we still carry many of the same staples that they did, I have added many new products, and have brought my own energy into the space. Magick Nature is more than a store to me and to most who enter. Almost everyone who walks through the door comments that they instantly feel more calm and relaxed. The store has taken on an energetic healing of it’s own. Many customers will stop in briefly not to shop, but to just “soak up the vibes” from time to time. It is such an incredible gift to go to “work” every day, feeling as though I have stepped into my own personal healing sanctuary and I am eternally grateful for that. Having Magick Nature is so much more than a job to me. It has helped me immensely to do a lot of my own emotional and spiritual healing.

What types of eclectic gifts do you offer?

We have home décor items, Himalayan salt lamps, crystals and minerals, hand-poured candles, natural bath and body products, a small selection of fun, funky and sustainable clothing, and jewelry…. Just to name a few. I love sourcing unique, hand-crafted, ethically sourced items created or inspired by nature, from around the world to right here in our backyard! Many items in the store are locally made. I love to support our local artisans!

Please explain what metaphysical supplies you carry and their uses?

Metaphysics is a broadly used umbrella term which encompasses a wide variety of spiritual belief systems and spiritual healing modalities and practices, including but not limited to: Chakra healing, Meditation, Paganism, Reiki, Witchcraft, Crystal-Healing, Sound Frequency Healing, and Astrology. We stock books on these subjects, divination tools such as pendulums and Oracle and Tarot decks, a variety of herbs and oils, Tibetan singing bowls, ritual candles, incense and more. Their individual uses varies depending on the individual path/practice, so that’s a lot to go into here, but I encourage anyone with questions to come in and chat with me any time!

What are some popular items among your customers?

Our top sellers are tarot & oracle decks, essential oils, incense, candles, natural soaps and skincare, and the famous Euroscrubbies – if you know about Euroscrubbies, you know. If you don’t, come find out! Everyone who buys them is always back to buy more for friends and family members. People also love our fun and unique stickers.

Do you offer any workshops or classes related to metaphysical practices?

We don’t currently. HOWEVER, this is something I have been wanting to incorporate and will soon have the ability to, when we move to our new location in August! We will be located inside the “Root Down” Community Hub, located above the Gear Exchange. We will have access to a large communal space and I already have a ton of ideas for workshops! The store will remain open at the current location until late July. I encourage everyone to follow us on Facebook or Instagram for the most up to date information on that!
